My name is Michael Johnson. I love being a pastor. It’s hard work to be sure. But I love it. This means my posts are purposefully pastoral in nature. It can’t be helped. A pastor shepherd’s God’s people as a steward of Jesus Christ the Chief Shepherd. Shepherds lead, feed, care, and protect the flock. To what end? That disciples mature in Christ and follow Him faithfully for their joy and God’s glory. That’s my aim here.

Ezra set his heart to do three things: to study the word, live the word, and teach the word (Ezra 7:10). That’s my life’s mission. Yet, we’re all called to be and make disciples. To that end, this blog aims to help Christians: 1) study, 2) live, and 3) teach the word as one approved by God.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
